What's your why?

Hello Everyone,

Many of you know Aliah is here and we are super excited about that and now that she is here it just make me think more. It made me think about a question that I previously had an answer to but now the answer has changed. There's one question that I hold dear to myself because its the wood that fuels my fire. Why? Why do I do what I do? Why do I say what I say? What do I work? Why am I in business? Why do I kill myself at the gym? Every time I ask myself these why questions, the answer is more and more important. Sometime we need to be reminded of why. My answers are personal but I wrote the questions for you. Ask yourself why. If you can give yourself a good answer then hold on to that as tightly as you can. There will be days when you don't want to. There will be days when you don't think you can. There will be days when you forget what the why is. Those are the days that you can remind yourself. I'm doing this because (fill in the blank). It get you through the tough days and reinforces the good days.  Lila and I are motivated by our why and I encourage you to find it, if you don't have it already. There's a great quote by John Maxwell who is the biggest leadership expert in the country. I was able to spend some time hearing him speak a couple weeks ago. In one of his latest books, Good Leaders ask Great Questions, He says this,

When I found my why, I found my way.
When I found my why, I found my will.
When I found my why, I found my wings. -- John Maxwell

Oh Baby UPDATE!!!

Hi Friends and Family, Update on the baby. Mom and Baby are doing great! We are now 32 weeks along. No, we still don't know what sex the baby is. Take a look below maybe you can tell....Personally, I'm dying to know but Lila is holding strong. We are still working on the nursery, which is going well. We are still getting together the details for the baby shower which will be after the baby comes. We will send out info for that. But other than that, I'll be sending out some information on a arrival baby pool. 5$ to enter. You will have to guess the baby's arrival date. Tie Breaker will be the sex and the weight. If nobody get the date correct Mom keeps the money! More to come on that. Thanks everyone!

The year of Change

Hi All,

I haven't posted any blogs since June, not because we have nothing going on, but because its been nuts! There's so much to talk about, I really don't know where to start. It's the holiday season and 2014 is just around the corner. The last 6 months of the year just flew by. We started our internet company in July and are having a blast building our customer base and network. We have great products and great partners and we are crazy excited about what 2014 has to offer. OUR ONLINE STORE We were so behind this year with our Christmas décor, we just got our tree yesterday. I know it's late but we'll keep it for a bit in the new year so I'm okay with it. It was always a fun memory decorating the tree with my dad during Christmas. When its done, a Christmas tree really changes the whole dynamic of the room it's in. With all the lights and ornaments on there, it's really great to see a transformation. As "The Dude" would say it, "It really ties the room together." I really want to post more to this blog next year. I'm not hot on the idea of what you are doing every second of the day (ie.facebook, twitter), but I understand the idea of updating friends and family on what's going on in your life. I'm still a big fan of old school, picking up the phone and saying hi. Seams like now a days our time is so valuable we think its more important to post political views and wasteful opinions based off of incomplete information.
Ok Moving on, for us this year was about change. Not just for Lila and I but for our immediate families. It was about embracing big change actually. For my Parents it was retirement. I mean my parents have worked so long and now are home and retired. That's a huge change! You begin to realize how much time is spent at work and how much you can accomplish or do in that time. My mom retired at the beginning of the year and we were able to go on an amazing trip to the Caribbean. Just an amazing place with beautiful scenery, beautiful people on a beautiful ship. Jaw dropping water and an experience I will never forget. Soon after Dad is no longer at work. Whoa! Huge change for him! Now he has time to get projects done around the house that he has been wanting to and tend to his botany! haha For Lila her big change came in June when we decided to bring her home. Work stress was causing stress on our marriage and frankly wasn't worth any kind of money. So she mainly works on our website from home. That means change in finances and change in routine. For me that was the biggest change. To know that it was all on mean to bring in the steady income. I mean our business is super young so that will grow but for now I had all the pressure. Sometimes it gets the best of me. I found that if I just stop for a second and listen, I can as God to be there in those times when it does get the best of me. I have footprints tattooed on the inside of my right arm and Lila has them on her right rib cage. They signify the times when we feel at our weakest. He doesn't leave, He is the one that carries us. When you realize that, its really easy not worry and stress. We completed the beach cities challenge that we set out in Feb and are currently looking for our next challenge.

Since 2013 was about change, we are crazy excited about 2014! It looks to be a year of growth. We know all of you will have some type of part in that.

Best Dunk Ever!

Hey Everyone. Just wanted to post a very special moment for Lila and I. June 19th we headed down to church to go our Wednesday night Pure group. Live-Pure.org  Lila and I had been wanting to get baptized and we were just waiting for the opportunity. It came and we were very happy to have someone really special to us be a part of it. Pastor Shane is the one who married us and it meant a lot to us that we would also be the one to baptize us. He has been such an spiritual leader for us we are very thankful he is a part of our lives. So, you may or may not know what it means to be baptized. It is an outward display of an inward commitment. We have commited ourselves to a lifestyle that is not the "norm". Some say "Freak" some say "beater" but it couldn't be further from the truth. Yes, its a different lifestyle, but if there is a GPS to heaven wouldn't you follow the directions? Well guess what there is. Its just not a box on your dashboard. Its a book that talks to your soul. The problem is sometimes we don't like what the directions are telling us to do. We think we know better. We think we know what's good for us. The truth is, when you change the way you think, is when things start to change in your life. I say that cause changing the way I think has made drastic changes in my life. Its changed my faith, changed my body and changed my releationships. Something like this has its ups and downs as anything. We are not perfect, its impossible, but we have made the commitment to grow and become stronger. Trying our best to be better than yesterday.

We are very thankful to all who supported us on this special day. We thank the team. We thank our parents and friends and family for the support. We thank the people from Water of Life Community Church. And all the people from Pure. My favorite verse Romans 12:2 "... but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

Friday funnys - Sahara Hare

So Lila and I were just chillin in bed the other day and we were watching the old Looney Tunes. Remember those? Well, it really sucks that they stopped showing them before the movies. I mean they show everything else before the movies why not show some real writing and talent. Those things were hand drawn. With one guy Mel Blanc doing 90% of the voices for the characters and an actual orchestra playing the music in the background. True artist compared to the synthetics of today's digital world. Call me dumb but they just can't replicate this with computers and soundboards. Here's a look at a classic. Favorite part is when Yosemite Sam explains what "whoa" means to his camel! Check it out! First time posting video from youtube to the blog so if there's any issues let me know.

Bugs Bunny & Yosemite Sam - Sahara Hare

Viva los...Cubanos?

So back in 2008 the dodgers had Mannywood. I mean the dude just came in and started hitting bombs and took over the city! Sound familiar? The cuban defect Yasiel Puig hit a grand slam last night to help the blue crew steal one from the braves. 3 homers in 4 games including 2 in 1 game and 7 hits of 18 at bats. You know, I don't want to sound negative and I appreciate the current wins but it feels a tad like smoke and mirrors oof 2008. The guy is human and as with us all, he will come down to earth eventually and then what? What do we do with the outfield once Kemp comes back? Crawford, Kemp,Either,Puig, what what your line up look like? Nice to thave Zack back, hope that pans out. Since the dodgers are not in a spot to make the playoffs just yet, I'm just gonna go watch the kid play and take the wins when they come with the hope that this is contagious and the bats wake up for the boys in blue. What do you guys think?

Just a beginning of Summer update

Hey Everyone, Just wanted to shoot out a small little update from our last entry. Not much has changed. We are still crazy focused still on our training and getting better. If fact the longer we are running the harder it is to keep up with it. It takes a mental want to wake up in the morning and do what we have to reach our goal. Its actually been quite amazing we started serious training in November of 2012 and as of Memorial day a couple weeks ago, we just finished our 3rd 1/2 marathon. We started not being able to run a mile with out stopping and we've grown mentally and physically stronger since then. This last one was for the USMC Dark Horse batallion out of Camp Pendleton.
It was very inspiring to see the families of fallen and current marines during this event. How can you not get pumped up when a TANK leads everyone down the street for a tough run. Memorial day was not part of the beach cities challenge that I wrote about earlier. We did this one for our troops pas and present (and a pretty cool medal.) After completing the Orange county half marathon with personal records for both of us, we have one more to go in october. I know some of you have told me you want to train for this so we'll be starting to train next week. For those of you interested in starting to train for something like this, let me know.
We meet in Glendora on Saturday mornings for our long training runs. It is a challenging but perfect training course. You don't need to do the full 1/2 marathon, 5ks and 10ks are available to run and are a great accomplishment for your specific level of running. Lila wants to do a full marathon next year but thats a whole other level of training. I don't know if were ready for that just yet.

Other things going on is we are getting more involved with our church. We are in the works of starting a couples small group through church, were couples can get together and fellowship about God and what kind of problems or speed bumps that arise during marriage. It will also be a good opportunity to get together with other couples and just hang out and be silly. Its always good to know you are not the only one going through issues. And you not the only crazy couple out there.

Other than that we are just being us. Spending time together, laughing as much as we can and working towards our own goals for 2013.

P.S. Special Congrats to all the graduates in the family. I know we couldn't make all the parties but we are super proud of all of you. You guys are entering a new level of your life and it is a huge accomplishement. Keep your head on straight and keep out of trouble. Just cause you're out of school doesn't mean you're ready for life just yet. :oP Praying for you all. See ya next time.

Running on an Angel's wings

Hi everyone, I hope all is going well. It's been a while since out last post, so I decided to get back on here and shoot out some updates. Right at the end of last year my Grandfather Passed away. Grandpa was the one that you always new was in the room. He might crack a joke. He might dance. He might yell at you for making too much noise but he was always there to tell you he loved you. We had wonderful memories with my grandfather and I know God is taking care of him. With the countless friends and family members we all know that have passed on, for me, its always better to have one more angel watching over Lila and I. Carrying his name for the third generation is truly ad honor to me. Love you grandpa you will be missed.

Last post we talked about running the surf city half marathon. It was a goal of ours and Lila and I trained very hard. We trained to be where we needed to be physically and mentally to get through such an accomplishment. Race day was last Sunday. Superbowl seemed on everyone's mind that day but not ours. We had work to do first. We woke up bright and early at 3:30am. I shouldn't say that we woke up. It was more like the alarm clock went off and got out of bed. I tried to tell Lila it was time to wake up. Could you believe her, she thought I was lying. I leaned over and said, "Wake up, it's time." Her response was "No." I said, "It's 3:30, time to get up." Her response was, "No it's not, your lying!" If you haven't seen my alarm clock (most of you haven't), its voice responding. Her name is MOSHI and when given orders will comply with your request. I had to ask MOSHI what time it was, so the response was audible and she would then be able to know that I wasn't lying!
So after picking up a few co-workers in Covina and in Carson we arrived in Huntington Beach. It was chilly in the morning and the sun hadn't shown its pretty rays yet. The energy of the people and area was contagious. Everyone was ready to get into their corral and get the race going. I even told one of my coworkers, "Now I know what those race horses feel like, all cooped up in those corrals before the race. I just want to run already!" Race time was finally here. We took off down PCH a little before 8:30am. It was a sea of runners, literally as far as your eyes can see. The spectators were amazing! They would hold up signs and cheer you on as you head out into what would be a very tough day for the both of us. 13.1 miles is not easy! We headed north on PCH and turned east on Seapoint. We headed into the bluffs and eventually found our way back to PCH. My thought process was to just get to the turning point and I would be fine. But when would I ever get to the turning point? By the time you came out of the bluffs it was mile 5 and it was another 3 miles to the turn! Every other day we were running at least 4 miles during training. This 3 mile run seemed like 15 miles. FINALLY, I got to the turn. I was on my way back home! The first and only thing I could think about was where was Lila? I wanted to see her so bad! See, Lila doesn't like running with me. For some reason, because she knows I'm faster she would rather let me go my pace than run together, so she can concentrate on her own pace. So I knew I would see her on the way back. I saw a couple of co-workers and then a few more. Then, as I kept my eye out for a pissed off girl in pink (Lila is always mad when she's working out), I spotted her! Lila and I aren't runners. In fact we started running just a couple weeks before thanksgiving. I couldn't run a mile without stopping to catch my breathe. For me to see her out there and us doing what we set out to do was mind blowing! Miles 9-12 were very long. The sun is now out and in full form and it takes every last bit of effort to get though the middle miles. Mile 13 though, you get the sense of excitement. All of a sudden there's more and more people cheering you on! "Your doing great!" "Keep going!" Complete strangers looking you right in the eyes and telling you, "Don't stop, you can do it!" I'll never forget this one guy. He'll never read this and I'll never be able to find out who he is, but he had a sign. He was standing on an irrigation vent pedestal. You know those tall skinny round ones sticking out of the ground, with holes all around it. His sign said, "You don't know me, I'm a complete stranger but you are amazing!" Those are the kind of words that got a lot of people through the last few meters. I didn't tell everyone but I could hear my Grandfather with his infamous accent saying "GO ARDIE GO!" You couldn't help but crack a laugh when he did that. I finished at 2:39.52 . My goal was to finish in 2:30 and I missed it, but I don't care it was a great race for me. Lila and I had agreed that we would meet at the finish line. As I finished I got my medal an some water, I turned back so I can watch her finish. I got close to the finish line and one of the volunteers told me I couldn't get any closer and I would have to leave the area to make room for everyone else to finish. I understand, but I needed to see Lila finish. Luckily another woman was trying to do the same thing I was and the same lady told her the same thing. This was my opportunity. I turned back and went another way using that lady as a distraction to get to where I wanted to be. It was perfectly executed! As I waited I couldn't help but think back on all of our training and how many times we didn't want to get up and run. And now look at us, we were going to finish the whole thing. I spotted Lila in the crowd and started recording on my iPhone. She saw me way before I saw her, so she was making a B-line for me. As I saw her face in pain and in tears, she brought me to tears. For us it was one of the hardest things we've ever done and it was emotional for us to do it together and survive. Lila finished at 3:09. She also missed her goal time but we didn't care. It was a win win day for us. There's a thing called the Beach Cities Challenge. The challenge is to complete all three southern California beach cities half or full marathons. Lila and I will be going for this! Up next is Orange County half marathon. That one is May 5th in Newport Beach. We'll keep you updated. If anyone wants to join us just let one of us know. I have to go now. Time to go run.

Spartan Race/Surf City 1/2 Marathon

Hey everyone! Its been a while since we posted a blog. June was our last update but we are back with lots to talk about. Its funny how 6 months can bring so much change in all of our lives. What happens in one day can change an outlook, priorities or even behaviors. Such is true for Lila and I. Its November and Lila and I have made choices in our lives that changed the lifestyle we live. We committed to healthier more active lifestyle and now is the time where we would like to see some payoff from that.
Back in June there was a post about the Spartan Race. This year its being held in Malibu, CA and is a 3+ mile obstacle race containing 15 obstacles with intentions on challenge every part of you mental and physical capabilities. Well, its here. I've lost close to 30 lbs and a week from Sunday I'll be participating and I have to tell you I'm really excited. I've been doing my best to work out as much as I can to prepare for something I really don't know about. It's not like they have a map of what the race is going to be like. In fact they pride themselves on you not know what is going to be expected of you until you finish. Literally, its their slogan. For more information or to do a Spartan race on your own you can visit Spartan Race Pics,Videos,Info  I'm not the only one in training. Lila and I also have decided to register for the Surf City 1/2 Marathon in February. This bad boy will take every ounce of our will to get through 13.1 miles down the coast of Huntington Beach. The plan is to do Surf city and hopefully complete the remaining beach cities 1/2 Marathons and receive our Beach cities 1/2 Marathon medals. We have team from my work which we'll be competing with but anyone can join the fun. Let us know if you want to particiapate too! Surf City Marathon Info We'll need your support from our friends and family to get through these things we can't do it alone! Thanks for reading see you next post.

La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaking

Hi Everyone,

So this weekend Lila and I woke up nice and early as usual, but instead of going to work we took the day off and headed to San Diego for some fun in the sun! Probably a little over 15 years ago I went to a summer camp with my cousin Manny in Folsom. It was a full week of nothing but water activities. Canoeing, Sailing, Windsurfing, Boat Safety and KAYAKING! Since that week I had never got back on a kayak. It was my favorite activity of the week and this weekend I got to experience it all over again with Lila. It was Lila's first time on a kayak so we were both a little nervous.I thought that we would just be kayaking in calm water behind a breakwater or something but this was a full on launch the kayak right from the beach. After a little crash course on kayaking and safety the question was asked, "Okay, who wants to go first"? Now, as soon as that was asked I was thinking we kinda see how other people were doing and then just sort of go from there. Not Lila, she raised her hand and said "We will!" Great make us look like the fools, thanks hun... We go into our kayak and off we went. We paddled through the waves doing our best to keep the kayak from tipping over. This was super fun because I was in the back watching the front of the kayak (with Lila in it) slamming down over the back side of the waves coming in! We made it out safely without any issues, this is where the fun begins. Because we were the first ones out we had to just sit and wait for the others. So we just sat back and relaxed while everyone came out. This where the story take a turn for the worst. Lila is not feeling so comfortable in her seating position. With out me paying any attention what so ever, as I'm looking down at the camera, she decides to adjust her bathing suit by leaning all the way over to one side as far as she can! Yup before I can even realize what was going on we were both in the water! We had a great time out there. The guides were super nice and knowledgeable, we saw tons of wild life, including the California state salt water fish (Garibaldi). From the surface these things look like just a spot of
orange floating in the water. It's really cool because you can see one then you see a lot of them all around. The one on the left is from a professional shot and the one on the right is from my camera, obviously. We also were able to see some sea lions up close, those guys are super fun to just watch and observe how they interact with one another. After kayaking we were hungry so we took off to old town San Diego and had a great meal at Cafe Coyote.
This is a great place to bring the family for a wonderful atmosphere and really great food. The restaurant is huge and service was great. I would definitely go back again. This was a perfect one day outing that led us to a great adventure, right here in our own back yard. I can't wait to get back out there and do some more fun stuff this summer. If you guys are interested I highly recommend La Jolla Sea Cave Kayaks as the place to go. There are a lot of kayaking tours but not all of them go to the sea caves. Everyone here was very friendly and helpful. For more info you can visit www.lajollaseacavekayaks.com . Let us know how your trip went!

A Spartan Update

What’s up everyone! I looked on blog-di-nez today, Wow it’s been since Valentine’s Day since we did a blog. Time has flown by. Log on to the site and check out some new movie and book recommendations.

No, Lila is not pregnant, that’s the number one question we get now naturally. So since it’s been a long time since we’ve done a blog that this one is probably going to be a general one to give an update on what’s going on.
So first thing is WE are not pregnant but there are multiple family members that are! A couple of my cousins are expecting babies to come soon and Lila’s brother and sister are also expecting a blessing to arrive this year as well. So exciting, there are times where the baby fever does take over me (I have to admit). We can’t to wait to see the little ones enter this world and we are praying for all baby’s health and strength.
The big things going on in our lives are Lila’s work. Let me tell you this girl is working her butt off. I’m so proud of her. She is putting her head down and grinding it out (which is not easy). She is getting her business off the ground the best way she knows how and can’t say enough about the work she has and will continue to put in.
So, you can probably mark this next thing as the craziest thing I have ever attempted to do. I have entered myself into a mud run known as The Spartan Race. Named after the incredibly awesome movie 300, it’s your chance to be a Spartan. There are longer distance races associated with the Spartan race but this one is scheduled for a 5k of some of the toughest terrain and obstacles, testing your body to the limit. I’m not taking this lightly I have started training and should be ready to come December 2nd. If this is something you think you would like to do check out the website www.spartanrace.com . My Step-father in law got me into it and I got a few people I know into it. We have developed a team, Team Atromitos which translates to “Fearless” in Greek. God is making changes within me and I’ll need His help to make changes to me physically to get me through this thing! haha Check out what I'm in for below. Tony you better not back out!

We feel the need...the need..for speed!!!

Hey everyone, its that time of the year again. I know its valentines day but that's not what I'm talking about. Yes, I love Lila and she loves me. Okay that's enough valentines day talk. What I really wanted to talk about is one of the funnest times of the year for me and Lila is getting ramped up as well. Gentlemen...START YOUR ENGINES!!! Its almost time for NASCAR season! This Saturday kicks off the season with the Budweiser shootout and then next week the Daytona 500! They call this the great American race because well, it is! Forty three cars going 190mph, paired up like the skinny friend pushing the fat friend around the track during P.E.. Oh man I can't wait. For those of you who didn't know, back when I was about 23 or so, I almost went to NASCAR mechanics school in North Carolina. I was already talking with the school admissions via UTI and wanted to get my hands greasy working with the one of the fastest teams in NASCAR. But after careful thought and deliberation. That 50,000 school loan to be paid off when I'm 45 didn't sound too fun. And... mom and dad said no, moving on..Edison it is! LOL. I didn't always like it. At first I was like, " I don't want to see NASCAR! It's a bunch of rednecks watching cars go around and around for 3 hours. Dumb." I was dragged to my first race about 6 years ago and man I was hooked! I didn't eat, I didn't drink, I didn't get up to go to the bathroom until the race was over. The sound, the power, the speed, is just overwhelming awesome. With time I got to learn the strategy and the terminology to now see much more than cars going in circles. Last year I took Lila to the race in Fontana. This was her first time. We showed up bright and early and it was raining!!! Those that know racing know rain is never good. We walked around the festivities as it was raining and were like, "Oh no, they are going to postpone the race." Luckily, the skies became clear and gave us a great race. So great it made Lila cry (that's not hard to do by the way). Kyle Busch (everyone hates him except Kyle Busch fans) was leading the race with less than 10 laps to go. Then, here comes Lila's favorite driver, Jimmy Johnson. The five time champion catches Kyle with only 3 laps to go and passes him. The crowd went crazy. With just a couple laps to go everyone is on their feet watching Jimmy (who's from California) take the checkard flag, but wait here comes Kevin Harvick who has been stalking Jimmy for the past couple laps. We all looked at each other like "Where did he come from?". Kevin catches Jimmy on the back stretch of the final lap and our seats could not have been any better as we watched Kevin Harvick pass Jimmy Johnson coming off of turn 4 for the win. Lila was heart broken. I could see it in her face. It was like someone took away her cotton candy or something. It was a great race. To make her feel better I took her to Hooters. She needed a pick me up. As we sat down to have our wings guess what's playing on all the big screens. That's right the final turn of Jimmy getting passed. And guess who walks in to Hooters, (not Jimmy, lol) about 7 Kevin Harvick fans yelling at the screen as if they were watching it for the first time. "Go Kevin! Go Kevin! Ya baby! Woo hoo!" Lila was going to kill them! Looking forward to some great racing this year.

Scotch and water please... hold the scotch...

Hi Everyone,

Its been a little while since our last blog. A lot has happened. One of the biggest things that has happen is we have decided to take a look at ourselves this year and do our best to put GOD and each other in front of our own selfish wants. We have quit drinking and making new friends at church. We stood infront of everyone on our wedding day and made a promise to a covenant marriage and Lila and I are doing everything we can to produce a strong foundation in our early stages of our marriage to be able to take on the challenges of marriage we know will show its ugly face down the line. We look to you our friends and family for help and support. Now don't jump to conclusions like awe man they are the new party poopers and the boring couple now cause we were just at Toyko Delves and had a crazy time! We were still singing along and still dancing on our chairs! We just did it sober (which is kinda werid now that I think about it) LOL. We are still the crazy peeps you know, the cool thing is we'll be able to remember everything! No hangovers and probably a little more cash in the pockets. 8 Jager bombs a night aren't cheep! LOL. We did stop drinking but we still tell jokes! Hope to see you guys soon.

Our Honeymoon

Hey Everyone!
So here we are back from our honeymoon and let me tell you it was absolutely amazing. We did so many things and had so many experiences, if I wrote about them it would be a freakin novel. We saw things I would never thought in a million years that I would be able to see. The people over there were super nice and love where they come from. We just want to say thank you to everyone that helped us with this trip. We could not have done it with you. There are tons of pictures and video of our whole trip and watch out because you all will get a chance to see them very soon! Coming back home was definitely reliving but we would love to go on another trip next year. Lila and I are very grateful to have the support behind us for this trip and we love you all very much. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! Like I said keep your eye out in your mail box for some images from our trip.

Halloween 2011

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since we have last posted to the blog but it’s been super nuts! There has been birthday parties and baby showers galore! Every weekend Lila and I have been going to a ton of family parties and events. We really enjoy spending time with are families. Of course there’s a lot of wishes coming our way for a family of our own and Lila and I are hoping to be blessed with a great one. Most recent of the family events was this weekend. This weekend marked Lila’s step-dad, my step-father in law’s 40th birthday. It the spirit of the month, naturally it was a costume party! You know what that means! That means witches, ghosts, clowns, monsters and swans? Yes, swans.(take a look at our pic to the left)
Each year, around this time there’s always one question that comes up and is always difficult to answer. But once you answer it, it becomes you, it takes over your life and the character almost seems real. What am I going to be for Halloween? For Lila and I, the answer came in the form of a swan, a Black Swan. This year we dressed up as the white swan and the black swan from the movie Black swan. Lila is used to the makeup, the attire and the tights. Not the case for me though. This is the most uncomfortable costume ever. My wife did look super hot though, and she did a fantastic job on my eye makeup. As for the party, we had a great time! The food was great and crazies came out, I might have been one of them. :o) There were a lot of great costumes and a lot of good pictures from the photo booth. Lila and I had a great time and happy birthday Craig!
It doesn't stop there. After that we headed over to another friend's Halloween Party. Marty and Allison always throw a fantastic Halloween party so we just had to go over there. Also, my cousin Tony was dying to see me in a too-too for some odd reason. Just as we suspected that party was still rocking even though we got there later in the night. Its always a good time at the Buck's. Be sure to send us pics of your costumes. Have a fun and safe Halloween everyone!

Dexter

Lila and I just finished season 4 of Dexter. We have been progressing as fast as we can to get through the seasons and we just can't get enough. We saw 12 episodes in three days. These things are hour shows and it's showtime so there's no commercials. That's a lot of Dexter but even though we've been binge Dextering Lila is sending me to Best Buy tomorrow to get season 5! I guess because the new season is starting on Sunday, we need to get caught up.

For those of you who have never seen or even heard of Dexter, let me give you a brief synopsis. Dexter is a forensics blood spatter expert for Miami Metro Police Department. The thing is he is also a serial killer! He and his so called "dark passenger" go on mysterious evening adventures capturing killers that due to our perfect justice system have managed to slip through the cracks of Justice's blind eye. He lives by a code and follows it to a T. He's killed men, women, psychos and murders, all in the name of... well... cause he can. He feels no happiness, sadness, emotion is all a facade to blend it to what we would call and perfect life. Its not so easy having such a complicated life. Juggling work, relationships, family and this need to stab something can't be easy. Oh, don't forget about rule #1, Don't get caught....

We would highly recommend Dexter. It's full of humor, mystery, drama, action and excitement. You just won't be able to turn it off. The writing is great and you never see the twists and turns coming. Start with season 1.Once you get past the ham and eggs opening Dexter takes you to a world and mind of a Serial Killer!

Its time for Pick it & Click it

Football season is one week away and I can’t wait. Actually my football season starts this Saturday as USC will be taking on Minnesota. But the pros are about to kick off and I’m very interested in this year’s NFL season. This year marks the second season of my NFL pick’em league. It’s called Pick it and Click it. It’s a place where friends, family and friends of friends can put their money where their mouth is and see who really knows their football. My team name this year is “Child Please” named after a Chad Ochocincoism and Lila’s fitting name is “Flea flicker chicken little”, which she got from the movie Little Giants. It’s funny cause last year I had to show her what a flea flicker actually was. She did well though, she beat me a couple of weeks and I had to do the dishes (I hate doing dishes). So here we go folks, I’m glad the NFL is back and if anyone wants to sign up there are still spots open until Wednesday, so you better hurry! Until next time…
